For a long time, I was looking for a lens with a high aperture for micro 4/3 at an affordable price, something that fits in the pocket with the camera on trips when you don't want to carry a lot of equipment. After watching a few videos, I was curious if such a small lens could really conjure up nice photos, and I was very pleasantly surprised. This little thing really takes nice pictures, it definitely has no competition at this price level. High-quality image and sharpness, all-metal body, nice bokeh. A really nice little thing that can surprise.
This is an amazing lens, especially when you consider the price. Perfect color rendition and image sharpness, even close up, is unbelievably crisp. The lens shipped quickly. My only complaint is that once the Post Office got the package, tracking stopped. Not a big deal. One other thing is that when you put the lens hood on, the lens cap doesn't fit. Again, not a bug deal. I just use the included lens bag as a cover, even when the lens is on my camera, in my camera bag.
Clicked f-stop ring is snug, so you won't bump it to a different setting. Focus ring is also snug, but smooth. This makes the lens perfect for using zone focusing.
I'm delighted with the quality of the lens, the metal case and the quality of the photos. On my Fuji X-S10 it looks like old school. There's a little vignette, but it corrects easily in post-production. The result is incredible for such a low price.
Even though i have much more expensive lenses from well known brands with either MF and AF, I enjoy this one the most. It’s compact, short focus throw (love it), sharp and with a bit of the character of the vintage lenses (probably due to thinner coatings). It will loose contrast and will flare in certain conditions, but for artistic or everyday shooting it might be what you are looking for. Due to its shartness its easy to nail focus with focus peaking. I am literally able to shoot a selfie with one hand holding camera and adjusting focus ring in the same time :)
Lovely lens. Gorgeous looking. Nail the focus and it's very sharp, even wide open. Suffers a bit from flare, but unexpectedly it came with a very nice metal lens hood which counters the flare nicely. Happy days. Highly recommended!!!
