The Viltrox AF 24mm F1.8 FE is an autofocus lens with a bright aperture, it's for Sony/Nikon full-frame mirrorless cameras there are surprisingly few autofocus 24 millimeter lens options available in the market. It's a really enjoyable focal length to work with for all kinds of users being wide enough on a full frame camera.
- Build Quality
The lens hood on this one as well it's plastic opposed to the metal on the Viltrox 23mm. The lens barrel is solid and metallic, clean with a nice brushed finish to it the lens mount is also made of metal. The package comes a metallic aperture ring which turns around without clicks.
- Usb-c port
On the back it has a Usb-c port right there so you can plug in to update the firmware.
- De-clicked Version
The manual focus ring kind of sounds like it rubs in certain points as you rotate. It's de-clicked like on the 23mm and it has a little a on there as well so you can turn it to that and then control it with the camera too if you wanted.
To get into auto mode it turns with just enough resistance to stop you accidentally changing aperture. The smooth aperture change looks very nice when shooting video which is important for some users that the auto focus mode works silently. And at an average speed it will probably work a bit faster on a newer camera body. Another good point for video makers is that the lens doesn't really display much focus breathing because the lenses filter size is a fairly small 55mm.
- Image Quality
√ On Full frame camera
The lens does not have image stabilization. As for the build quality, it's anawesome little nice and small lens and tough works perfectly well. Full frame lens with such a bright aperture things are a bit murky and somewhat soft in the corners at the brightest apertures but there's always some good detail being captured.
√ On aps-c camera
At f1.8 the lens is nice and sharp in the middle with lots of contrast, although a touch of purple fringing is visible. The corner image quality is soft f2.8, looks about the same in the corners, but back in the middle any trace of color fringing is gone. Leaving absolutely perfect image quality.
f4 looks just as sharp in the middle as you'd expect and the corners look a bit clearer.

The Viltrox AF 24mm F1.8 is pretty much like the Sony 24 GM. But this is a good choice if someone's not wanting to spend 1400 on the Sony 24 GM, this is a pretty good option.
