TTartisan 17mm F1.4 APC-S Lens Review -- Available for Sale Now on Pergear
The TTartisan 17mm F1.4 has a cool vintage look that we haven't seen from them before. The build fit and finish is just like everybody expect. It's solid. All metal the metal screw cap, the mount is as always also metal.
The focus has a very smooth focused throw, the geared part of the ring is quite thin but since it's so smooth you can grip it pretty much wherever the aperture comes with clicks this time.
It will be a little soft compared to step down but way sharper than you would have thought for a lens costs just about $100!
It's a perfect lens which lets you set a zone from just above one meter to infinity, at f4, it's great for street photography with the added bonus of an f 1.4 aperture to achieve a little bit of separation as a bonus. And also let in more light combined with a very lovely close focus of only 20 centimeters. It's quite fun to use for spring trips with the big aperture.
